Container Repair
BCT operates an on-site engineering workshop capable of performing minor and intermediate repairs on damaged or defective containers. Our certified repair team works directly within the terminal yard, minimising delays by handling repairs without the need to transport containers off-site.
Repair Capabilities
Our workshop handles a wide range of structural and component repairs for dry and reefer containers:
- Floor repairs and replacement (timber and bamboo)
- Door seal and gasket replacement
- Door hinge and locking rod repair
- Panel welding and patching
- Roof and side rail repairs
- Reefer unit minor electrical and mechanical repairs
- Cleaning and wash-out services
Damage Survey & Estimation
Prior to any repair work, BCT carries out a condition survey and prepares a detailed repair estimate. Surveys are conducted by our qualified inspectors in accordance with IICL (Institute of International Container Lessors) standards. Estimates are provided to the container owner or leasing company for approval before work commences.
Certification
Repairs are carried out in compliance with CSC (Container Safety Convention) requirements. Upon completion, a repair certificate and photographic documentation are issued. BCT can arrange re-inspection by an authorised CSC surveyor where structural repairs affect the container's safety approval plate.
Request a Repair
Container repair requests can be submitted through the BCT operations team. Please provide the container number, ISO type, and a brief description of the damage when making your enquiry.
