Container Freight Station
BCT's Container Freight Station (CFS) provides full stuffing and stripping services for LCL (less than container load) shipments. The CFS is physically connected to the warehouse complex and the container yard, allowing seamless movement of cargo between vessel, warehouse, and onward transport without leaving the terminal.
CFS Services
Our CFS handles all aspects of container consolidation and deconsolidation:
- Container stuffing (consolidation of LCL cargo into FCL)
- Container stripping (deconsolidation for cargo delivery)
- Cargo sorting and segregation by destination or consignee
- Tally and condition reporting
- Short-term cargo storage pending container availability
Multimodal Connectivity
The CFS sits at the intersection of three transport modes. Trucks can load and unload directly at the warehouse docks, rail wagons can be positioned on in-warehouse sidings, and containers are transferred to and from the yard using terminal equipment. This eliminates double-handling and reduces cargo dwell times.
Customs Procedures
CFS operations at BCT can be carried out under customs supervision within the Freeport of Riga free zone. Transit cargo, import goods pending clearance, and export cargo awaiting vessel loading can all be handled under appropriate customs regimes. Our team liaises directly with the State Revenue Service on-site.
Documentation
All CFS operations are documented with cargo receipt notes, packing lists, and condition reports. Electronic documentation is available through the BCT client portal. Damage surveys can be arranged in coordination with P&I clubs and cargo surveyors.
