ISPS Compliance Certification Renewed
Baltic Container Terminal has successfully completed its periodic audit and renewed its ISPS (International Ship and Port Facility Security) compliance certification, reaffirming its commitment to the highest standards of international port security.
About ISPS Compliance
The ISPS Code, established under the SOLAS Convention by the International Maritime Organization (IMO), sets out a comprehensive framework of measures to enhance the security of ships and port facilities. Compliance is mandatory for all international commercial port facilities and is subject to regular audits by recognised security organisations.
BCT’s Security Measures
BCT maintains a comprehensive port facility security plan (PFSP) that covers all aspects of security operations, including:
- 24/7 perimeter security and CCTV surveillance
- Controlled access systems for vehicles and personnel
- Regular security drills and staff training
- Coordination with port authority security services
- Cargo inspection procedures and documentation controls
Certification Validity
The renewed ISPS Statement of Compliance is valid for five years, subject to annual verifications. BCT’s Port Facility Security Officer (PFSO) coordinates all security activities and liaises with the Port of Riga and national maritime authorities to ensure continuous compliance.
BCT remains fully committed to maintaining the security and integrity of its operations for the benefit of its clients, partners and the wider shipping community.
