BCT Annual Throughput Report 2025
Baltic Container Terminal has released its annual throughput report for 2025, highlighting strong container volumes and reaffirming BCT’s position as the leading container terminal in the Baltic States.
Key Performance Highlights
2025 was a record year for BCT, with total container throughput exceeding previous benchmarks across all key metrics. Notable achievements include:
- Total TEU throughput increased by 12% year-on-year
- Vessel calls rose to a record high, with 98% on-time berth allocation
- Average vessel turnaround time reduced to under 18 hours
- Gate transaction processing time improved by 15% following IT system upgrades
- Reefer container volumes grew by 8%, reflecting expansion of cold-chain logistics
Trade Lane Performance
Volumes on the key Northern Europe–CIS trade lane remained robust throughout the year. Rail services connecting BCT to Central Asian markets continued to grow, with weekly block train departures operating at full capacity for much of the second half of the year.
Investments and Infrastructure
In 2025, BCT completed significant capital investment in terminal infrastructure, including the commissioning of an additional ship-to-shore crane, expansion of the reefer plug capacity, and the phased rollout of a new terminal operating system. These investments are expected to drive further efficiency gains in 2026.
Outlook for 2026
